Thoughts about last year

2018 was a crazy year for me for so many reasons.
Early on, during the school year, someone in my family moved away. At the same time, I was finally realizing my goal that I'd had ever since I was a child of finishing something novel-length, which turned out to be a fic started out on a whim - my fix-it for Black Butler season 2, "Unweaving". That would only be one of the crazy amount of Black Butler fic I wrote this year.
When summer started I went to visit other family members in different states, and got to see my little cousins - something that was wonderful, as I usually don't get to see them for more than a few days every year. There were other reasons the summer was hard, and that started pretty much right after... I also translated someone's fic into english, something I'd never done before, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Well, anyway, with other stuff over my senior year started and I had to work on my project; during the second part of the semester my advisor was in the hospital. During October I finally completed an Inktober challenge and tried to put a little more effort into my artblog, and started making some manga colorings. And I was still worrying myself sick about what to do once I finally got *out* of college. My video editor decided to break, something I still haven't fixed :(
Then it was the holidays. I made a whole bunch of cookies to give to people, tumblr decided to ban female nipples, and I joined this site. I saw my cousins again; they're moving unexpectedly because of job reasons, so they might end up close enough to see them more; I also saw the family member that had moved away. There are so many other things, plans, things I've forgotten, I don't even know... I don't regret this year, but I'm kind of glad to see it behind me.
On the up side, I'm honestly incredulous that I wrote ~ 140,860 words in total this year, mostly in Black Butler fic; I'm not sure I've *ever* written that much in a year before.
Of those, the ones that I'm particularly proud of are my "Crossroads" series (a Black Butler fusion with SPN), "Touch" (a Star Trek TOS oneshot), my "How Not to Spend Eternity" series (post-season 2 Black Butler), "The Frost" (a Black Butler AU prequel mashup with the live-action movie), "To my dearest young master" (a short, future-fic Sebastian character exploration in epistolary form), and "The Good Brother" (Black Butler as Hansel and Gretel).
Also, last night I watched Groundhog Day with my family. (I love that movie. It's awesome.).
